My mother had a day care of 8 children in our home 5 days a week 12 hours a day. Ages 4 weeks-13 years old, and many of them continued even past age 13 stopping by at least weekly to see us. There wasn't one time I ever had to lie to anyone in my family we all confided in each other, even when my brothers tried smoking they didn't hide it, of course they never tried again, but it was only because they found out what can and does happen when you smoke. Our parents did a lot of talking with us, helping us understand the problems and the situations and showing us better and respectful ways of dealing with them. They never really raised their voice at us as my father said it wasn't ever needed, we knew when we did something wrong and we knew the consequence would be listening to how to handle the situation or what could have happened if things didn't go how we expected them to. I love being a nanny because I get to help a family and child grow closer and happier together and also help the child learn new things and become confident in themselves.
