Live-Out Nanny/Housekeeper Available Full/Part Time

Nanny Available - My name is Kelly and I Love working with children. I'll give you brief history of my experience with children. Since I can remember I have been watching kids, I started babysitting when I was only 10 years old. I continued this and took the babysitting course they offered in school when I was 13. Every summer job I had was babysitting, along with light housework. When I was between my freshman and sophomore year in high school, I became a summer girl for a family in Northbrook Illinois. I took care of three children, ages nine, seven, and five. The seven year old just had major brain surgery, so my main focus was on him. I also did most of the housekeeping, and some meal prep. After the summer, the family asked me to stay on with them and go to school and help with the kids. I did this for a semester, then I really missed my family and friends so I moved back home. I then continued with the babysitting jobs until graduation. After graduation, in 1987, I became a nanny in Deerfield, Illinois for a three year old and six month old. I took care of the kids six days a week and also did the meal preparations and housekeeping. I stayed with this family for over a year, and then left to go to school. I never made it to school because I got pregnant, in 1988, with my now 17 year old. I was out of the child care business, other than providing as a single mother for my own child, until 1997 when I opened my own Family Child Care business. I have been taking care of children since then. I have only advertised once, in 1997, and have received all my clients by word of mouth. In 2004, my husband and I expanded our family by adopting siblings, twins, age eight, and their three year old sister. I continue to do the daycare, but I really would like to work with one family and still be able to help with the family finances. I love children and want to continue in the job field with them, but I am looking to be able to focus on one family and a smaller number of children to maximize what I have to offer. #103263
