Nanny Available - Hi, I am a Junior at Eastern Connecticut State University, and am looking for a nanny position (full-time) for the summer (starting in the end of may till the end of august). I can tell you a little bit more about my past experience. I have been working at Holy Family Shelter in Willimantic (as a work study job at school) since my freshman year (I am now a junior) and there I work with the children in the Education program, and help with childcare if a mother has to be out of the shelter sometimes. At the shelter I work with children ranging from infants to teens). I help come up with crafts and projects durring the afterschool program, make snack, and help with homework. I also have been employed by Children's Discovery Center for the past year, and last summer I had a classroom of 10 three-year olds, (by Myself) in which I prepared all curiculum for the classroom (arts and crafts, educational games, etc) I don't think I could ever be challenged by only three-children again. Since the summer I have been working occational Fridays, and over breaks, where I sub in any age classroom. For my month of vacation on Christmas break I worked in the two year old classroom. (I also work Fridays and Saturdays at an antique and gift consignment shop part-time. I am very busy.) The previous summer I nannied for a family that had two children, a kindergartener in his summer before 1st grade, and a 9 year old girl. I would take them to the beach, and on lots of walks and bike rides, trips to the library, and transported them to swimming lessons and horse-back riding lessons. I did the children's laundry, and cleaned up after them. I also did the dishes, prepared their meals (breakfast and lunch, occasionally dinner) and sometimes vaccumed. I loved their children and we had a fun summer. I also have babysat since I was in 5th grade, and am an older sister of three-siblings, so childcare is something that I have had much experience in.
